About Us
CHRS (Clay heat Recovery Systems) was founded with a single mission: to revolutionise renewable heating and cooling through an invisible, scalable technology that harnesses the untapped thermal energy stored in clay. Developed from a background in Oil and Gas Instrumentation, STEM innovation, and engineering problem-solving, CHRS is designed to deliver 50 – 100 years of reliable hot water and heating, without visual impact, without heavy maintenance, and at a cost that undercuts traditional heating systems. Unlike wind or solar, CHRS works silently below the surface, capturing and recharging thermal energy continuously. Our patented modular clay-based systems integrate with proven district heating technology, ensuring consistent performance for homes, businesses, and infrastructure. CHRS is positioned to transform renewable heating infrastructure across the UK and globally – replacing gas, reducing grid demand, and meeting Net Zero targets at scale.
Our Vision
We aim to make CHRS the default heat source for future communities – embedding invisible, maintenance-light, renewable heating into every new housing development, commercial site, and municipal network. By offering an affordable, non-disruptive, and long-life system, CHRS eliminates reliance on fossil fuels and ensures year-round, predictable energy security for generations to come.
Designed for ESG compliance and Net Zero delivery, CHRS operates with a 100% plant-based, biodegradable thermal fluid and a minimal environmental footprint – preserving farmland, protecting landscapes, and reducing strain on the national grid. We aim to set the benchmark for low-impact, high performance renewable heating that works in harmony with people, land, and infrastructure.
Meet the Team
